Adam Idah’s two penalties proved pivotal for Celtic at Easter Road on Wednesday evening as The Bhoys picked up three vital points in the Scottish Premiership title race. After impressing off the bench against Aberdeen, the big Irishman got the nod for the first time in Leith and grasped his opportunity.
Early on in the game, Idah opened the scoring courtesy of an emphatic penalty and in the dying embers, he hit an equally as powerful spot-kick, under vast pressure, to ensure the points came back through the M8 with his side.
After signing on loan from Norwich last week, the 22-year-old couldn’t have asked for a better start to life in Scotland. With two goals and an assist in two games, Idah has become an instant hero among the supporters.

Football can act in mysterious ways and the fans who were doubtful of Idah’s abilities when he joined have now been proved wrong. Things can change rapidly within a few days and for Idah, they have.
After the Hibs game, the loanee spoke of what has been a turbulent week: “It’s been crazy but it’s been fantastic”, he said (The Celtic Way).
“I’ve already settled in quite well here. All the boys in the changing room, the staff, the people in the city have all welcomed me in well and I’m loving life in Glasgow right now.”
Time will only tell whether Idah maintains his scoring spree and subsequent Celtic form. In the infancy of his career at the club, he has already instated himself as a favourite among the fans, and his manager Brendan Rodgers will have been a relieved man when his second spot-kick rattled the back of the net midweek.
