    Liam Scales Celtic Contract Update

Celtic are on the move to secure the future of Liam Scales with a fresh contract, according to reports. The club’s brass and the Republic of Ireland star are sitting down to chat about extending his stay beyond the current cut-off in summer 2025.

It’s a clear sign of commitment from the Hoops, who’ve seen Scales evolve from a peripheral figure to a central character in Brendan Rodgers’ line-up this season.

Rodgers, who shares roots with Scales back in Ireland, hasn’t been shy about his admiration. Rodgers hinted at ongoing talks last months, however, Scales seemed out of the loop. RecordSport reports that Celtic is keen to hammer out a deal that’ll keep the 25-year-old defender in Glasgow for the long haul.

Snagged from Shamrock Rovers back in 2021, Scales had a stint on loan at Aberdeen, dazzling enough to catch the eye. But it was a defensive pinch at Celtic this season that really threw the doors wide open for him. Scales has not only clinched a spot in the Republic of Ireland squad but has also become a linchpin in Celtic’s defence.

Scales has had several centre back partners this season with injuries meaning Celtic have rarely had a settled back line. He has shown admirable qualities in the face of a lot of pressure.
