Yang Hyun-jun will come away from today’s game with praise for what was the spark down the right-hand side Celtic have been crying out for all season.
The South Korean international has been inconsistent in his time at the club since joining from Gangwon in the summer, but against Motherwell, he put in a great display.
The right-wing position is undoubtedly now his to lose, but he must find consistency to keep his place in the starting 11.

With Nicolas Kuhn and Daizen Maeda failing to impress off the right-hand side, it is now time for Brendan Rodgers to pick his first-choice winger, as the Hoops need to develop a consistent starting 11 with too many changes to squads this season.
Undoubtedly, injuries have played a part in Celtic failing to find their best starting 11, but considering the fact it is February, Rodgers must find it now, and Yang appears to be the best option off the right wing.
With the South Korean winger receiving plaudits in his homeland for his performances in the Asian Cup, Yang is a talented player who, if he can find consistency in his wing play, will prove to be a vital player in the coming weeks.

His ability to move inside and hug the touchline were evident this afternoon, but what also came out of the game was how well he linked up with Alistair Johnston, who looked a far greater threat from wide areas with his cross to Adam Idah ultimately winning the game.
Johnston is clearly Celtic’s first-choice right-back, and to get the best out of the Canadian international, Yang must start in front of him to create chances down the right-hand side.
