Liel Abada’s move from Celtic to Charlotte FC in the MLS was confirmed last night. After weeks of speculation and the winger not being in the right frame of mind to play, it was only inevitable a permanent transfer away from Parkhead would transpire.
The 22-year-old moving on was best for all parties and after his departure was announced, the treble-winner took to Instagram to give an emotional farewell to the Celtic supporters.

To his message, numerous Hoops stars past and present replied. Alistair Johnston said ‘All the best wee man, I’ll be watching’ while Giorgos Giakoumakis, who also left Celtic for the MLS, welcomed Abada to the States:
Josip Juranovic said ‘All the best little bro’ while Joe Hart wished the youngster good luck. Several other notable names such as Stephen Welsh, Adam Montgomery, Luis Palma, Gustaf Lagerbielke, Nir Bitton, and Johnny Kenny gave Abada their best wishes as he moved onto pastures new.
A popular member of the squad, the situation over the past few weeks has been arduous for the attacker. Anyone with a shade of empathy can see how tough his predicament is, and Abada moving to a club where he can focus simply on his football is only beneficial for him, his development, and Celtic.
