It seems like a lifetime ago purely due to the whirlwind that is following Celtic but the importance of the Hoops’ 2-1 win at Easter Road last Wednesday should not be underestimated.
Adam Idah’s brace of penalties proved to be the difference between the Celts and Hibernian who, historically, have caused Brendan Rodgers issues in Leith. They were banished a week and a half ago, but the dismal run could have easily gone on had it not been for Anthony Ralston.
Subbed on early doors for the injured Alistair Johnston, who remains out, Ralston gave his all as always. Indeed, in the dying embers, his sliding challenge on Elie Youan was critical.

The Hibs attacker looked destined to lead a counter-attack but the right-back had other ideas. Ralston’s sheer desire saw him win the ball back and kickstart a phase of play that eventually led to Kyogo winning a penalty that Idah converted to secure the points.
In a recent press conference, the 25-year-old talked through the tackle: “It was just a moment that happened instinctively”, he said (Celtic FC on YouTube).
“I desperately wanted to get to that ball and score, and so did all the boys.
“I was just sliding about. I seem to have a good knack for sliding about and getting mud all over me, so I was lucky enough to come away with the ball that time.”
Two years ago, Ralston had his say in the title race, heading home in Dingwall to score a goal that proved crucial to his side winning the league. One may argue his recent contribution away at Hibs was equally as important.
