Brendan Rodgers finds himself at the centre of a disciplinary storm following his critical remarks about the match officials, specifically targeting VAR John Beaton.

His comments, which explicitly accused the officials of “incompetence,” have led to an SFA charge for breaching disciplinary rule 72, slated for a hearing on March 28.
Andy Walker opines that while Rodgers’ comments may have crossed a line, they were not without calculation, and he knew exactly what he was doing.
Walker said: [Go Radio]
“When I heard Brendan Rodgers after the game I felt as though ‘he’s a clever guy, he knows exactly what he’s doing’. He overstepped the mark I think and that’s why he’s been cited.
“I think you can comment about referees in a certain way, as he has done over the last number of years. And he would know not go over the line and he knew he was going over the line.”
The potential consequences of this charge could see Rodgers facing a minimum two-match ban, sidelining him for the highly anticipated Glasgow Derby against Rangers.
Celtic will be backing the manager to the hill throughout the process, but in the meantime, Celtic have a cup tie to negotiate their way through as well as returning to league duties against St Johnstone.
By the time the team come back from the international break, the situation with Brendan Rodgers will become clearer.
