Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers spoke to the media at Lennoxtown on Friday afternoon ahead of his side’s crucial Scottish Premiership clash with St. Johnstone tomorrow.
Along with providing a wealth of injury updates on the likes of Callum McGregor, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Reo Hatate, and Liam Scales, the boss lifted the lid on what has been one of the most exasperating aspects of the Hoops’ season so far.
Rodgers, who never experienced many significant issues in his maiden spell as Parkhead gaffer, has had a wealth of fitness problems to deal with this time around. He admitted that this has proved annoying at times: “That’s been the biggest frustration over the course of the season”, he said (Celtic FC on YouTube).

“Having not been able to put out the, you know, our strongest eleven but the players have given me everything until this point.
“They’ve worked ever so hard and, like I say, we can still finish off the season in a really high moment.”
There is no denying that injury has plagued Celtic’s season. Stability in terms of a lineup has been practically non-existent.
The manager recognises this, and although it has bothered him throughout the campaign to date, Rodgers will be pleased that things are beginning to come together in terms of a fully fit squad.
