Highlighting the rich histories of both clubs, the match comes nearly 30 years after Borussia Dortmund’s European Cup victory in 1997, echoing Celtic’s own historic triumph in Lisbon.
Adding to the occasion’s significance, Paul Lambert, a member of Dortmund’s victorious 1997 squad and later a Celtic legend, will manage the Celtic Legends team as manager, with Tom Boyd serving as his assistant.
The charity match aims to raise crucial funds for feeding those in need, aligning with Celtic’s longstanding heritage of support and charity. Proceeds will support the continuation and expansion of the Paradise Pit Stop project at Celtic Park, and seek new partnerships for food provision in Inverclyde, Lanarkshire, London, and Ireland, building on the foundation’s impactful projects.
In a special tribute, a portion of the funds will also be donated to the Dundee Cancer Centre at Ninewells Hospital, honouring the memory of Scott Brown’s late sister Fiona.
Ticket sales for this event will commence exclusively for season ticket holders from 10am on Wednesday, March 13, before opening to the general public from 10am on Wednesday, March 20.
Further details on the team lineup and additional event information will be announced in the coming weeks.
