In light of recent reports from Israeli outlet Sport 5, which claimed that Celtic winger Liel Abada had been subjected to verbal attacks in Scotland, manager Brendan Rodgers has stepped forward to clarify the situation.

The report claimed that the winger had received abuse while walking down the street. The report also claimed that Abada had made the club aware of this, something Brendan Rodgers isnt aware of.
Amidst swirling rumors of a potential move away from Celtic, with Atlanta United and a reunion with former teammate Giorgos Giakoumakis being mentioned, Abada doesnt seem likely to pull on a Celtic shirt again.
Rodgers addressed the allegations of verbal attacks, stating to The Herald, “I’m not aware of that. I speak regularly with Liel. It’s sadly a situation which doesn’t put him in the right frame of mind to play.” He emphasised the day-to-day nature of Abada’s status while assuring that the player is being well taken care of during this challenging period. “But that’s a day by day thing. He’s still training with the group, sadly not available for the games. We’ll treat him well and look after him well whilst he’s here,” Rodgers added.
Abada has not featured for Celtic since their match against Hibernian at Easter Road, with Rodgers previously stating the player was not in the right frame of mind to take part in games. Despite this, the Israeli international continues to train with the team.
The situation surrounding Abada remains fluid, with his future at Celtic uncertain amidst ongoing transfer speculation. However, Rodgers’ comments provide some reassurance that the club is supporting the winger through this difficult time, even as discussions about his potential departure continue.
