Kris Boyd Tries to Create False Narrative After Celtic Win

Celtic’s recent 2-1 victory over Hibernian at Easter Road, marking Brendan Rodgers’ first win at the venue across his two tenures as manager, has seen Kris Boyd try to create a false narrative that Hibs were somehow robbed of at least a point.

Despite Celtic’s performance being criticised for lacking creativity and quality, Boyd had focussed on the moment when Martin Boyle was booked for diving in an attempt to win a penalty.

Referee Nick Walsh adjudged Boyle to have simulated a fall following minimal contact with Celtic’s Alexandro Bernabei, a call that saw Boyle receiving a yellow card. However, Boyd attempted to steer the narrative in a different direction, suggesting that Hibs were hard done by and that a penalty should’ve been awarded, remarking on Sky Sports, “I’ve seen them given.”

This statement prompted a response from James McFadden, who accused Boyd of “clutching at straws tonight,” highlighting the perceived attempt to discredit Celtic’s win through biased commentary.

Boyd was bitter post-match, he was obviously raging that Celtic reinstated the lead they had at the end of the weekend.
