Celtic winger Luis Palma returned to the Hoops’ starting eleven on Sunday away at St. Mirren. Brendan Rodgers’ decision to draft the Honduran internationalist back into the lineup proved dividends.
Indeed, Palma set up Kyogo Furuhashi for the opener, cutting back well for the frontman who scored with a first-time finish. Palma remained lively out wide before being replaced by Yang for the last half-hour.

Post-match, Palma took to Instagram. He posted a picture of himself and Kyogo after the opener, along with an image of him shaking the hand of his boss Rodgers. The caption was ‘Keep going’:
The 24-year-old’s weekend display took his tally of goal contributions for the season to 18. He has been quietly ticking along nicely throughout the current campaign, and the argument he has been the champions’ best signing since Brendan Rodgers’ return to the club is a sound one.
At the weekend, he once more impressed with gaffer Rodgers defending him after the game, saying he wasn’t left out of the midweek win over Hibs through being reduced to the bench. Instead, it was a simple case of squad rotation with the number seven returning to the team at the weekend.
He will now aim to nail down the left-wing spot in the coming weeks amid increasing competition through the returns of Daizen Maeda and Yang from international duty and the arrival of Nicolas Kuhn.
