“There are no cracks” – Celtic Defender Backs-up Manager and Teammates

There is no getting away from the fact that Celtic are in a tight tussle to retain their status as champions of Scotland. The Hoops are at the top of the table, but their lead is narrower than they would like.

It feels as though things could go down to the wire but there is a long way to go yet. There is a plethora of football to be played yet going into the run-in, the Celts are high on confidence.

Having won eight out of their last nine, the Hoops are on a prodigious run of form despite a vast array of outside noise. The players and management, though, block this out completely.

Indeed, after a recent professional 2-0 win over St. Mirren, centre-half Stephen Welsh was asked about “cracks” in the team amid their displays. He shut this down and defended his teammates and manager: “There are no cracks”, he said (The Celtic Way).

“We are confident in what we do. The gaffer is confident in what we do and we stick together, not just the back four, the midfield three and front three and whoever comes on the pitch.

“We are together, we are really a united team so we will move forward.”

Celtic appears geared up for the upcoming fight. The Bhoys know what is at stake, and are committed to the cause of bringing the title back to Glasgow’s east end and resultantly gaining a crucial Champions League place.

There is a fighting spirit among the players and manager ahead of a crucial few months.
