“We will have our day” – Brendan Rodgers Sends Strong Message To Celtic’s Critics

Celtic came away from the SMISA Stadium on Sunday with a pivotal Scottish Cup win. Thanks to goals from Kyogo Furuhashi and Daizen Maeda, the Hoops secured their place in the last eight of the competition where they couldn’t have been handed a more favourable draw.

Indeed, the Hoops are due to take on Livingston next month in the quarter-finals. The oldest cup competition in football provides manager Brendan Rodgers with another opportunity for him and his side to get their hands on some silverware.

The gaffer will be eager to do so and after the weekend’s win over the Buddies, he hit out with a strong message for the club’s critics: “People will look to jump and bring us down, and bring me down”, he said (Clyde 1).

“But I’m here to win, and I’m sure we’ll have our day and we’ll have many days going forward.”

The gaffer clearly understands that, despite winning eight out of the last nine, he and the club have come in for a recent bit of criticism. In the minds of many, this is undue, with Rodgers sending a stark message to those attempting to find fault with his team.
